How It Works

"Triggers" within a business system set the process in motion. A database event or a file trigger such as a flat file or an XML file can begin the process.

Rules determine where documents are to be routed (e.g. shipping, management, sales, customs, purchasing), the number of copies to be printed and the mode of delivery: Printer, fax, e-mail, XMLl/PDF, pager, PDA.

OM utilizes data from the HOST:

• Retrieves data from business systems in a variety of ways, including parsing, ODBC, and APIs.
• Works with existing infrastructure, including all network-printing options, e-mail servers, and faxing systems.

Easy-to-use rules parameters allow the creation of any document based on values in data fields.

• Export documents can be generated based on country codes.
• Hazardous materials documents can be generated based on item or product codes.
• Multiple language documents can be generated based on customer language codes.
• Document output format can be generated based on customer codes.

User access can also be granted to certain documents, allowing quick and easy entering and/or editing of data. Security for editing capabilities can be set on a field-by-field basis for each user.

All document layouts can be designed quickly and easily with the patented Document Designer of Output Management.

• OM's template-based system allows creation of new documents quickly.
• Generate multiple copies of each document, with different destinations.
• Design documents exactly as necessary, thereby eliminating the need for pre-printed forms.

Output Management:[OM] Customisation requires no programming or scripting.

• Add fields to a document and position them by dragging and dropping.
• Change or translate a document label caption by typing a new caption into that label.
• Hide or view fields for certain copies with the conditional printing function.
• Uses any font available, including barcodes.
• Add images, such as banners and logos, to enhance the document's appearance
